A remanufactured engine goes through an intensive process to leave it in a 'good as new' condition. Stripped to its bare components and given a deep cleaning, the engine receives a number of new parts (e.g. pistons and rings), while other parts such as the crankshaft are honed, reconditioned and polished accordingly.
